Synopsis:
Not Without My Hijab is the story of, Aneesa a teenager who is struggling with many of the societal issues teenagers face: bullying, self-acceptance, and self-confidence. Along with these issues, Aneesa also is having a conflict of conscience as she strives to remain on the Straight Path in terms of her outer garments. Wearing her hijab has gotten her teased and even physically harassed on occasion. Why should she have to continue to wear it? Does NOT wearing it make her less of a Muslimah in her heart? How can she find the courage and conviction to wear it if she must?
Aneesa is torn between donning her Hijab with confidence daily while navigating life as a teen attending public school in the big city, and not wearing it but continuing to practice her faith. Just how important is the hijab to her faith? Join us as we take an inside look at the struggle faced by more young people than we realize. Be the 1st to join us on this amazing journey.
